KMX Tornado UK

Here I will be writing an easygoing review.  Just getting to the heart of the produt - not a heap of technical mumbo jumbo.  I hope it helps.

Disclaimer: I am not a distributor of the KMX Tornado™ UK nor am I a spokesperson for KMX Karts. I am simply providing some information for the KMX Tornado UK without the overly-technical phrasing. Hope you like it!

(Note: the product is called the KMX Tornado, I’m adding the UK as it the version available for purchase in the UK – they are the same product)

The KMX Tornado UK is the most stylish and intuitive recumbent trike around. Each trike is professionally built within EU standards and has pure enjoyment written all over it (not literally!). The craftsmanship of this device is apparent with each component created with precision engineering to create the comfort and excellent manoeuvrability. The highly competitive price is a great selling point - most recumbent trikes of this standard can cost well upwards of £1500, so the KMX Tornado UK is less than half that price!

Best features (without jargon!)

Safety: The KMX Tornado is arguably safer than the standard bicycle. As the Tornado has a low centre of gravity, intuitive control is easier and the trike is more stable at slower speeds. If you were to fall, the distance to the ground is much less than the standard bike = less dangerous!

Ease of Use: This trike is perfect for everyone. With a recommended age of 14+ and cheap relative price it is the ideal trike for the first-time recumbent trike user! However, with the professional build quality and the possibilities for customisation it is also a brilliant purchase for an old hand at recumbent riding.

Manoeuvrability: The KMX Tornado has amazing balance due to the low centre of gravity. The turning and steering is reassuringly responsive. The KMX Tornado UK has the perfect mix of a sturdy frame yet lightweight feel when riding.

Saving Energy: The KMX Tornado UK lets you save energy! Here’s the idea. On a regular bike the action of your legs is working up and down and you are hunched over when pedalling. On the KMX Tornado UK you are laying back comfortably and your legs are working parallel to the road (or track whatever you prefer). There is a vast amount of energy to be saved cycling like this!

  1. Legs working parallel to the road instead of up and down uses less energy as you aren’t constantly working against gravity and the action is more comfortable as your legs are allowed near full extension whereas on the bicycle your legs are curled and it is much harder to press through the pedals.
  2. Apart from the obvious comfort aspect of laying back, the reclined position of the KMX Tornado UK straightens out the back, releasing the diaphragm allowing for unhindered breathing. This is IMPORTANT. It allows the rider to conserve precious energy that would otherwise be lost through shallow breathing. Pretty nifty, eh?

Incentive to buy

Price: Look around other products – all other recumbent trikes pale away with price tags about twice as much as the KMX Tornado UK for similar specifications.

Intuitive Riding: The pure experience of getting on the KMX Tornado UK and feeling like you’ve been able to ride it faultlessly for years – after about 20 minutes!

Energy Saving: Expel the same amount of energy as you would on a bicycle but get way more play time. You’ll feel like you don’t ever need to stop on one of these machines!

Go on – enjoy yourself!
